What you don’t know about Intimacy Coordinator

150Views

The role of an intimacy coordinator is to oversee all scenes involving nudity or sexual content, from the initial planning stages to the actual filming.

Intimacy coordinators work with directors, producers, and actors to ensure that all parties are comfortable with the scene and that it is being performed safely. They also ensure that any nudity or sexual content is consensual and that all parties have given their explicit consent.

Training and qualifications required to be an intimacy coordinator vary depending on the country. For example, no formal training or certification is needed in the United States, but many intimacy coordinators have a background in dance, theatre, or other performing arts.

In the United Kingdom, there is a certification process through the British Intimacy Coordinators Association (BICA). Intimacy coordinators must have two years of experience working in the entertainment industry and complete a two-day training course.
