A pool can be a great addition to any home, but it is important to keep the water clean and safe. There are many types of chlorine for pools that you can use, which will each have their own pros and cons. In this article, we will discuss four types of chlorine for pools: liquid chlorine, granular chlorine, and more.

Liquid Chlorine:

This is a strong form of pool chemicals as it has the highest concentration.

Granular Chlorine:

This can be purchased at your local store and comes in an easy-to-use bag with no measuring required. One downside, however, is that granular types of chlorine are not typically stabilized so they need to be used quickly before they lose their effectiveness.

Another type of chlorine for pools made from powder or crystals is called calcium hypochlorite which kills bacteria but doesn’t have any algaecide properties like liquid types of chlorine do if needed you could add some algaecide to it.

It slowly dissolves making it more available all day long until consumed by algae or shock treating after heavy rain or a lot of people using the pool.
